# Versions of the Open API and the MCP server

Three identifiers name what you are calling: the API version in the REST path, the version of the OpenAPI document and the version the MCP server reports.

## Which version identifiers does Fincanva publish?

- The REST path carries the API version: every operation is under `/api/v1/research`, version `v1`.
- The OpenAPI document reports `info.version` `1.0.0`.
- The MCP server reports `serverInfo.version` `1.0.0` when a client connects.

## How are changes and deprecations announced?

> **Not in the app yet.** Fincanva has not published a compatibility and deprecation policy yet: when an identifier changes, and how long an older version keeps answering, is not decided.
