# See how much of your plan you use from the sidebar

The plan tile, in the sidebar above your account, names your plan and keeps the count of the strategies you follow Live in view; pressing it opens the list of them.

## Steps

1. **Look at the plan tile.** It is one raised button on a single row: while you hold a plan, paid or on trial, a black face with the plan written in lime; on Free, a lime face. On the left are the plan's bars and its name; on the right, how many strategies you follow Live against how many your plan allows — `Live 3/5`, or `Live 7` on a plan with no Live ceiling, Ultimate and Professional today.
2. **During the trial, read the days left instead**: the tile names the plan as `{plan} · trial` and shows `{n} days left` — `1 day left` on the last one. On Free, which includes no Live, the right side reads `Free trial` while the account can still start the trial, which is now only a moment, since the trial starts by itself; otherwise `Switch to Starter` with an arrow.
3. **With the sidebar collapsed to icons**, the tile keeps its bars alone, and its tooltip carries the plan's name and the same Live count — or the days left. The **Live** entry carries the Live count on its own as a small bright-green tag with the rising line and the number, announced to a screen reader as "2 Live"; it is hidden when you follow none and when the sidebar is collapsed.
4. **Press the tile.** A panel opens under the plan's ribbon, with **Manage plan**, which opens your billing settings. **Your Live strategies** repeats the count (`3 / 5`) and lists every [strategy](/glossary/strategy) you follow Live, each name linking to it and each with its Live key, which asks the same confirmation as on the strategy's own page before it stops following. From nine Live strategies a search box, **Search Live strategies**, appears above the list.
5. **Read what it says about room.** With every slot taken it adds `Every Live slot is taken. Switch one off to follow another.`; with nothing followed, `No strategy is Live yet. Turn Live on from a strategy's page.` Where a higher plan allows more Live, the foot always carries `More Live with Ultimate` — from Advanced — beside **Switch to Ultimate**; with no Live ceiling it is absent. On Free the panel has no list: **Follow a strategy Live**, `With Starter you can follow a strategy Live.`, `Start your free trial` with `30 days, no card` while the account can still start the trial, and **Switch to Starter**.

**Done.** You know how much of your Live allowance you use. Everything else your plan counts, and what it gives you, is on [Settings → Plan and usage](/docs/account-and-plan/what-settings-plan-and-usage-tells-you).

## Why can the tile show more Live strategies than my plan allows?

Between a downgrade and the one-time choice of which Live strategies to keep, an account can briefly follow more than its plan allows, and the tile says so — `Live 5/1`. That choice is [Choose which strategies stay Live](/docs/live/choose-which-strategies-stay-live).

## Why does the tile not count saved strategies or screeners?

Because both are effectively unlimited by plan — screeners on every plan, strategies from Starter up — so Live, which still has a ceiling below Ultimate and Professional, is the one count worth stating at rest. A strategy your plan does not cover is marked on its own row in the strategies list instead: see [bring a set-aside strategy back into your plan](/docs/account-and-plan/bring-a-set-aside-strategy-back-into-your-plan).
