# What your plan includes in AI apps

Every Fincanva plan lets you connect Claude or ChatGPT, Free included; what grows with the plan is how many requests and heavy runs the apps may use each month and which groups of tools they get, and the Open API — for your own programs — is included from the first paid plan.

## Steps

1. **Find your plan's column.** The table is read from Fincanva's plan limits, the same ones the app enforces.

   | Surface or allowance | Free | Starter | Advanced | Ultimate | Professional |
   | --- | :---: | :---: | :---: | :---: | :---: |
   | MCP server | Included | Included | Included | Included | Included |
   | Open API | Not included | Included | Included | Included | Included |
   | Requests a month | 150 | 1,000 | 4,000 | 12,000 | 40,000 |
   | Heavy runs a month | 10 | 60 | 250 | 800 | 3,000 |
   | Build strategies | Included | Included | Included | Included | Included |
   | Simulate and analyse | Included | Included | Included | Included | Included |
   | Screeners | Included | Included | Included | Included | Included |
   | Your library | Included | Included | Included | Included | Included |
   | Market data | Included | Included | Included | Included | Included |
   | Guide and catalogue | Included | Included | Included | Included | Included |
   | [Fin](/glossary/fin) Research | Not included | Not included | Not included | Included | Included |

2. **Know what counts.** Every question that reaches Fincanva from a connected app or an API key is one request, from Claude, ChatGPT and the API together. A [backtest](/glossary/backtest) or a full simulation is also a heavy run, and counts as a request too. Using Fincanva in the app itself counts nothing here.
3. **See what you used.** Open **Settings → Plan and usage**: the **Requests from Claude, ChatGPT and the API** card shows **Requests** and **Heavy runs** for this month, and when they reset — on the first day of each month.
4. **When a limit is reached**, Fincanva refuses the app's next request of that kind until the counter resets, or until you move to a plan with more.

**Done.** A [strategy](/glossary/strategy) or [screener](/glossary/screener) an app saves for you also counts toward your plan's strategy or screener limit, like one you built: [What each plan includes](/docs/account-and-plan/what-each-plan-includes).

## Which tools does an app get on my plan?

The groups of tools are the ones listed in the table, under the names **Settings → Connected apps** gives them. Within your plan you can turn groups off for each app, never on beyond it: [How to manage the AI apps connected to your account](/docs/with-ai/how-to-manage-the-ai-apps-connected-to-your-account). **Fin Research** is counted as **Fin Research reports** on the plans that include it, but the automatic research that writes them is not in the app yet.

## Can I use Fincanva from my own program?

Yes, on a paid plan, through the Open API: in **Settings → API** you create a key with **Create key**, and Fincanva shows the whole key once, so copy it then. On Free, the page says which plan includes the API. How a program uses the key: [Authentication and API keys](/developers/open-api/authentication-and-api-keys).
