# Fundamental metric columns

Fundamental metric columns are the measured values a [screener](/glossary/screener)'s results table shows for each match: company financials, growth rates, valuation multiples, dividend figures and price-derived measures. There are 35, spread across five tabs. A column reports what the instrument reads today; it is not a filter, and showing one does not screen on it.

**Also seen as:** results columns, results-table columns

## How does Fincanva handle it?

The results table splits its columns across five tabs — **Overview**, **Returns**, **Fundamentals**, **Ratios** and **Dividend** — and switching tabs changes the columns, never the instruments. The 35 include the identity and classification columns (Symbol, [Asset type](/glossary/asset-type), Exchange, Country, Sector, Industry) that sit beside the metrics, and several appear on more than one tab. Where a measurement basis needs stating, a small unit line sits under the header — TTM, TTM · YoY, YoY or %. A cell with no value reads as a dash rather than a zero, because a missing reading and a reading of zero are not the same thing. What every column shows, tab by tab, is in [Read the columns of your matches](/docs/screeners/read-the-columns-of-your-matches).

## Which columns have a page of their own?

Four of the 35 have their own concept page, because the same term appears elsewhere in the product and not only as a column header: [instrument](/glossary/instrument) behind Symbol, [asset subtype](/glossary/asset-subtypes), [Sharpe ratio](/glossary/sharpe-ratio) and [beta](/glossary/beta). A fifth page covers no column of its own: [TTM and YoY](/glossary/ttm-and-yoy) is the shared measurement basis behind the six growth columns. The remaining columns are defined in the guide and in the hint each header carries in the app on hover.

**Sharpe** and **Beta** here describe the individual instrument's own price history, not a [strategy](/glossary/strategy)'s. They are not the figures a [backtest](/glossary/backtest) reports for a strategy over a chosen period, and the two should not be read against each other: this Sharpe, unlike a backtest's, subtracts no [risk-free rate](/glossary/risk-free-rate) — see [Does the screener's Sharpe subtract the risk-free rate?](/glossary/sharpe-ratio#does-the-screeners-sharpe-subtract-the-risk-free-rate)
