What happens when a setup is not compliant?

Nothing renders. A non-compliant strategy comes back with no data at all, so its results view has nothing to show and its run status never settles on Up to date. The failure has no message of its own: it surfaces as the same Out of date status a result that is no longer current would show, and the status keeps falling back to it. A compliance failure is therefore silent by design — "no results" never means "the numbers were bad".

What Fincanva enforces today

Today the same capability set is resolved for every signed-in account, so no strategy is refused on plan grounds. Per-account plan capabilities are not resolved yet, and screeners carry no plan cap, so the compliance answer comes back positive for the setups the app lets you build. What you actually observe is the freshness half of the mechanic — Up to date, Running, Out of date — never a plan gate, and the usage figures in Settings show -- for the same reason. No plan-derived value reaches a backtest either: the simulation start year defaults to 2000, and its picker offers every year from the current one backwards — earlier than 2000 included.

Worked example

You run a strategy and its status settles on Up to date: the compliance check passed — which today it does for every account — and the results are served. If that check had failed, the difference would be entirely negative: no metrics, no equity curve, no banner naming a limit, and a status that keeps falling back to Out of date. Recognising that shape matters, because it is the one case where an empty results view is not caused by a run that never happened or by data that moved on — the two ordinary reasons covered by run status and data freshness.
