How to ask Fincanva in the chat

Steps

1. Turn Fincanva on in the chat. In Claude, switch it on under + → Connectors; in ChatGPT, pick it from the tools menu or name it in your message.
2. Ask in your own words, and name Fincanva. For example:
   • "With Fincanva, backtest equal weights of SPY, TLT and GLD since 2005, rebalanced every quarter, and give me the CAGR, the max drawdown and the Sharpe ratio."
   • "Use Fincanva to build a screener of US stocks with a positive P/E under 15 and an RSI(14) under 30, and save it."
   • "List my Fincanva strategies and compare the metrics of the two I changed last."
   • "Which instruments does Fincanva find for the ISIN IE00B4L5Y983, and from what year does it have data?"
   • "What does my Live strategy Core Income hold today, according to Fincanva?"
3. Read the answer. Each question that reaches Fincanva uses one of your plan's requests, and a backtest or a full simulation is also a heavy run: What your plan includes in AI apps.
4. Open what it saved in Fincanva. A strategy or screener the app saves appears in the From AI folder, marked Created with {app} on {date}.

Done. What the app saved is an ordinary strategy or screener: you open, edit and backtest it like one you built, it counts toward your plan's limit, and it never expires.
