How to connect Claude to Fincanva
You connect Claude to Fincanva once, in Claude's settings, by adding Fincanva's address as a custom connector and allowing it on Fincanva's consent screen; after that you can ask Fincanva for backtests and screeners in any Claude chat.
Steps
- Copy Fincanva's address. Open Settings → Connected apps in Fincanva: with no app connected yet, the page reads No connected apps and shows the address with Copy address. That address is the one to paste — in production, https://app.fincanva.com/mcp.
- Open Claude's connector settings. On claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app, open Customize → Connectors, select + Add, then Add custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector once in Organization settings → Connectors, and each member then selects Connect on it.
- Name the connector and paste the address. Call it Fincanva, paste the address, select Continue and finish with Add. Leave the authentication Claude detects as it is: Fincanva signs you in with your own account.
- Sign in to Fincanva and allow Claude. Claude opens Fincanva's consent screen,
{app} wants to connect to your Fincanva account, with Claude named and what it will be able to do. If you are not signed in, Fincanva asks you to sign in first and brings you back to the same screen. Press Allow. - Turn Fincanva on in a chat. In a Claude chat, open the + menu at the bottom left, then Connectors, and switch Fincanva on.
Done. After Allow, the browser takes you back to Claude: it lists Fincanva among its connectors, and Fincanva lists Claude in Settings → Connected apps. What to ask it: How to ask Fincanva in the chat.
Which Claude plans can add Fincanva?
Every Claude plan can add a custom connector — Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise — and Claude's Free plan allows one custom connector. These are Claude's rules, set by Anthropic, and they can change; Anthropic's help article on custom connectors states the current ones. What if I press Deny, or the request has expired?
Deny connects nothing: Claude gets no access, and you can start again from step 2. A connection request that is too old or incomplete opens This connection request is no longer valid instead of the consent screen; go back to Claude and add the connector again.
