How to manage the AI apps connected to your account

Guide2 min4 steps

You manage every AI app connected to your Fincanva account in Settings → Connected apps: there you see what each app can do, make it read-only, turn its groups of tools on or off within your plan, and disconnect it.

Unpublished — this page is visible on staging only and is not on the public site.

Steps

  1. Open Settings, then Connected apps. Each app is listed with when you connected it and when it was last used.
  2. To stop an app creating or changing anything, switch on Read-only: it can read, analyse and simulate, but creates and changes nothing in your library.
  3. To narrow what an app can use, turn groups off under Tools it can use. Only your plan's groups can be switched — a group your plan does not include shows the plan that opens it — and one group stays on — Keep at least one group of tools on. To stop the app, disconnect it.
  4. To disconnect an app, select Disconnect on its row and confirm with Disconnect. It loses access at once, and to use it again you connect it and allow it again.

Done. Each change applies at once: Read-only turned on, Tools updated or {app} disconnected.

What does a connected app get access to?

Exactly what the consent screen lists when you press Allow: it can read your strategies, your screeners and their results; create strategies and screeners, which land in the From AI folder and count toward your plan's limit; run backtests and simulations with Fincanva's data; and use your plan's monthly requests. It cannot change your subscription, payments or password, or put strategies Live. It acts with your account and your plan, and only while it stays connected.

Fincanva recognises Claude and ChatGPT and names them itself. Any other app declares its own name, which Fincanva cannot confirm, so the consent screen marks it Unverified app and offers Allow anyway: allow it only if you added it yourself.
