How to read your plan
Your plan lives on Settings → Plan and usage, where Your subscription says in one dated sentence where your subscription stands and carries the actions to change, cancel or restore it.
Steps
- Open Plan and usage from the account menu. Every account has it, including one with no active subscription; the profile header also shows the plan you hold, under Plan.
- Read the dated sentence in Your subscription — the same one the plan pass shows, so the two always agree: see What does Settings → Plan and usage say about my subscription?
- To change plan, select Change plan — Choose a plan on a Free account or one whose subscription has ended — and choose the plan, the billing interval and, on a paid plan, when the change applies: see What's the difference between "Upgrade now" and "Switch at renewal"? During a trial, the same dialog moves the trial itself — see the 30-day trial.
- To cancel, open the menu beside Change plan (
More plan actions), select Cancel plan and confirm:Cancel your plan? Your subscription will end on {date}. You will keep access until then.Nothing is charged again, and nothing you built is deleted — plan compliance says what happens to a strategy beyond your lower plan. The sentence then readsEnds on {date}, Restore plan takes the place of Change plan, and a toast confirms it:Access until {date}. - To undo a cancellation, select Restore plan and confirm:
Restore your plan? Your subscription will continue and renew on {date}.It is there for as long as your access has not ended. - Use the action that replaces them when one does: Cancel scheduled change while a plan switch is queued, Update payment method after a renewal payment failed — see what happens if a payment fails — and Retry when Fincanva could not reach billing, which changes nothing on your account. A state that asks you to act shows as a panel of its own rather than a plain row.
Done. Your subscription names the new state in its dated sentence. What you pay — payment method, billing details and invoices — is on Settings → Payments and invoices (how to get an invoice with your tax details); Active sessions, the devices signed in to your account, is on Settings → Access and security.
What does Settings → Plan and usage say about my subscription?
The pass names your plan — Starter, Advanced or Ultimate; Free, or Custom for a Professional subscriber — and its price with the interval you pay on: billed monthly, every 3 months or annually. Your subscription names where the subscription stands:
| Sentence | What it means |
|---|---|
Your trial ends on {date}, or You’ll be billed for {plan} on {date} | On the 30-day trial; nothing charged yet. |
Renews on {date} | Active; renews automatically on that date. |
A renewal payment didn’t go through | A renewal was declined; you keep your plan while it retries — see what happens if a payment fails. |
We haven’t received your first payment yet | A first payment is not collected yet; some methods take a few days. |
Ends on {date} | Cancelled: active until that date, then it stops. Nothing is charged again. |
Switching to {plan} {interval} on {date} | A plan switch is queued for that date. |
Your {plan} plan ended on {date} | Paid access has stopped; everything you built is still there, and the pass reads Free — see what the page shows once the subscription has ended. |
The rest of the page — the ladder of plans and what you are using — is in what Settings → Plan and usage tells you.
What's the difference between "Upgrade now" and "Switch at renewal"?
Two moments a plan change can take effect, offered side by side whenever a paying subscriber chooses a different plan: Upgrade now changes it immediately, prorated against what you have already paid this period; Switch at renewal queues it for your next billing date, so today's plan runs out its paid period first. A queued switch reads Switching to {plan} {interval} on {date} until it lands, and Cancel scheduled change releases it before then, leaving you on your current plan. During a trial the dialog offers neither: it moves the trial.
"To change plan during your trial, add a payment method first."
It appears when a plan switch is queued for the end of a trial with no payment method on file (toast: Add a payment method to change plan), and nothing about your subscription changes. It is not the way to change plan during a trial: the trial's Change plan dialog queues nothing and moves the trial immediately, with or without a card. To stay on a plan after the trial ends, add a card.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee on any plan: while your subscription is active, Cancel plan is in the menu beside Change plan, takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and can itself be undone with Restore plan for as long as that period has not yet ended.
There is no Restore plan button
Your access has already ended: once the Ends on {date} date has passed there is nothing left to restore, and subscribing again starts a fresh subscription.
Does the account menu point me at a specific plan?
No. The account menu's Plan and usage entry opens Settings → Plan and usage for every account, whatever plan it holds, and every link in the app that offers a plan change opens that same page with Change plan already open. On the ladder of plans, the plan one step above yours is highlighted because it is the next in Fincanva's order of plans — on Ultimate there is none and no offer appears. Neither is Fincanva suggesting which plan you should be on.
