The 30-day trial
Every Fincanva account gets one 30-day trial of a paid plan that starts by itself — no checkout, no card — and with no card, day 31 puts you on Free and charges nothing.
Steps
- Open the app once your email is confirmed. The trial starts the first time you do, with no "start the trial" step, and lasts 30 days in total from that day; it applies once per account. A new account meets it once, on the last page of the welcome it walks through after signing up,
You're all set, {name}: one panel that readsPlan on trialwith the plan andChange,Free untilwith the date,CardNot neededandThenFree, unless you choose a plan, withGet started;Changeopens the plan choice right there, and the panel shows the plan you move to; if that page could not show it, the same card greets you once on Home, withCreate your first strategy. An account that existed before and never had a subscription gets the same trial, once, announced by a one-time dialog:We've turned on 30 days of {plan} for you, thenFree until {date}, no card needed. At the end you go back to Free, unless you choose a plan.and what that plan gives you, withStartandChoose another plan. - Check the plan it runs on. It starts on Advanced, or on Starter, Advanced or Ultimate if you chose one on the website's pricing page before signing up, and runs at that plan's own limits from day 1 — there is no trial-only level: the plan level the plan pass names is the one enforced. The figures are in what each plan includes.
- Move it to another plan whenever you like with Change plan on Settings → Plan and usage (or
Changeon the welcome's last page): see How do I change the plan of my trial? - Keep an eye on the days left in the plan tile of the sidebar: during the trial it names the plan as
{plan} · trial, in lime, and shows{n} days left—1 day lefton the last day. More on the tile: see how much of your plan you use from the sidebar. - Decide about day 31. You are charged on day 31, on the plan and billing interval the trial is on that day, only if you have added a card; Your subscription says so in advance. With a payment method on file — the default one is charged — it reads
You’ll be billed for {plan} on {date}andWhen your trial ends, the payment method on file is charged. Cancel before then and nothing is charged.; with none,Your trial ends on {date}andNo payment method is set to be charged, so nothing is charged and your subscription ends with the trial. If your payment details cannot be loaded, or you already cancelled, it shows onlyYour trial ends on {date}; before Fincanva has a date,Your trial is running.
Done. You know what the trial runs on and what day 31 will do. You are never charged without a card already on file to charge.
How do I change the plan of my trial?
Open Settings → Plan and usage and select Change plan in Your subscription: during a trial, that dialog moves the trial itself — to Starter, Advanced or Ultimate, as often as you like. The plans are rows with their price, and one button says what the choice does. Each move takes effect immediately, charges nothing and does not change the trial's end date, and that plan's limits apply from that moment.
With no card on file, the dialog is titled Which plan do you want to try? and reads Free until {date}, no card needed. There is no billing interval to pick, since nothing is billed: each plan shows its monthly price as then {price}/month. The plan you are trying is marked On trial now; select another and the button reads Move the trial to {plan} (on the plan you are on, You're already on {plan}). Under the button, add a card keeps you on the plan after the trial's end, and All the differences opens the full comparison.
With a card on file, it is titled Change plan and reads It's free until {date}. From that day we charge the plan you choose here. You pick a billing interval above the plans; select another plan and the button reads Switch to {plan}, with Starts now. Still free until {date}. Upgrade now and Switch at renewal are what a paying subscriber sees there instead — see how to read your plan.
Will I be reminded before the trial ends?
Yes, when no card is on file: 7 days and 1 day before. A one-time dialog reads Your {plan} trial ends in 7 days (or Your {plan} trial ends tomorrow), then On {date} you go back to Free. Nothing is charged: there is no card on file., and lists the strategies that will be locked that day — kept, not deleted, reopened as soon as you choose a plan — with Stay on {plan}, which adds a card, and See the other plans. An email with the same content and the same subject is sent at both moments; it cannot be switched off — Settings → Notifications lists it under Always on (notification settings). With a card on file there is no reminder: day 31 simply starts billing.
Can I cancel during the trial?
Yes, and nothing is charged: cancelling before the end date stops the subscription before the first payment is ever attempted. With a card on file, the sentence in Your subscription says so itself — "Cancel before then and nothing is charged." The Cancel action itself: how to read your plan.
What happens when the trial ends?
With a card on file, billing starts on the plan the trial is on and nothing else changes: your account already ran at that plan. Whatever exceeds the plan was already so during the trial, and the downgrade rule applies — nothing is deleted, and what exceeds the plan stops running until it fits again (plan compliance).
With no card, nothing is charged: the subscription ends, your account is on Free, and the strategies beyond what Free allows are locked — kept, not deleted — under the same rule. A one-time notice says Your trial has ended: you're on Free, with how many are locked, and Choose a plan.
What happens after a trial that ended without a card?
Choosing a plan reopens what was locked, but it is a purchase, not a second trial: charged from today, with a card. Change plan then reads Choose a plan, with Your trial ended on {date}. {n} strategies are locked: they reopen as soon as you choose a plan. You pay from today; the trial doesn't repeat.; each plan says Reopens {n} strategies, and the plan you tried is marked Tried. After a paid plan ended, the dialog reads Welcome back: choose a plan and marks Your previous plan.
My first checkout didn't go through — do I still get the trial?
Yes. Only a subscription that actually ran counts — one that ran, even for a day, uses up the trial — and a checkout that never went through never ran one. That covers an earlier attempt that never completed, such as a declined card or a bank verification (3-D Secure) you didn't finish: nothing was charged and nothing was served, so the account still counts as never having had a subscription, and the trial starts by itself the next time you open the app, with the one-time dialog that announces it. A trial today cannot leave you in that state, because it starts with no checkout and no card — there is no payment to fail. Checkout is where you buy a plan, not where a trial begins.
I subscribed again and didn't get a new trial
The trial applies once per account. An account that already held a subscription — even one that ended, including a trial that ended without a card — does not get another, and choosing a plan starts billing from today.
